Default Does Word 2007 suffer the hyperlink follow fail on an address containing [ or { ?

Having found no solution to this problem https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...hyperlink.html on Word 2003, I'd like to know if it exists on Word 2007 (before I attempt an upgrade). Any idea?

The test is simple:

1 Create PDF a file named "[.PDF"
2 Create an adjacent .DOC
3 Open the DOC
4 Press CTRL+K and select the PDF, click OK
5 Do CTRL+click on the link
6 Word 2003 fails: "Cannot open the specified file."

Replace "[" by "!" and the fail disappears.

Thanks.
