Yes and followed them to the letter. They had no effect - as expected from the fact they describe themselves as for fixing a very different problem. However if anyone can provide a DOC showing them fixing the reported problem, I'd love to see it.

Likewise I'd be grateful if anyone can confirm they get the reported problem EDIT: in Word 2003.

1 Create PDF a file named "[.PDF"
2 Create an adjacent .DOC
3 Open the DOC
4 Press CTRL+K and select the PDF, click OK
5 Do CTRL+click on the link
6 See "Cannot open the specified file."

Replace "[" by "!" and the fail disappears.
