First you did well putting everything in one document. Second, work with a copy of your document until you get it right. Third, read How to set up a document with front matter numbered separately. Don't do anything in your document yet. Fourth, read How to Control Page Numbering in Microsoft Word by Bill Coan, MVP. Don't do anything in your document yet. Fifth, skim through Sections / Headers and Footers in Microsoft Word 97-2003 To understand how page numbering works in a document like you have, you have to know something about Sections in Word. It is at the section break that you can restart page numbering or change its appearance. Each section in Word can have up to three different headers and/or footers. In addition, the StyleRef field can change the appearance of a header or footer without changing the header or footer. I hope this helps. Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 08-15-2012 at 12:10 PM.
