![]() help me write macro code that will automatically update all fields....This is the header RE: «PatientLastCommaFirstName» DOB: «PatientDOB» DOV: «VisitDate» I generate the document in my electronic record, but the header will not autopopulate. |

Hi PeaceDove,
Updating the fields won't solve the problem if your generation process doesn't populate them. Your field code expressions suggest you might be using mailmerge. In that case, there also won't ordinarily be any fields in the output document to update.

is there a way to get that information at the top of each page without having to do it manually after the document is generated?

Not easily - it would require a considerable amount of vba code to recreate whatever's missing. Far better to do it as part of the document's creation. However, since you've provided scant information about that, I can't really help you on that front either.
