You can get the Windows info from Start > Control Panel > System, This Page tells you how to check for Service Pack1 in Office 2010 but you should also be able to check the version. This is more important in 2007 but I would also make sure you have a default LOCAL Printer Driver. Use XPS if there is no physical printer. For some crazy reason the printer driver affects the screen display!
