I am finding animations are not occurring where I expect, why not?
I have pasted a process flow chart onto the presentation page. At the start arrow I have pasted a PacMan type object. I start it, then move it right, then move it down to the first process and all those steps are fine. I then try move it right to second process, then right again to the third. What happens? On the last two steps, it moves right to left (instead of left to right) and quite some distance away from the arrow place markers. The direction of travel is the reverse of the arrow direction. Even if I reverse the direction of both these right moves, one of them is a long way from where it should be. The other is not perfect and the move is not really near enough to the arrow. I would be please to hear any suggestions. |

It's not quite clear what you are doing but I would double click a motion animation in the animation pane and set the path to "Locked" Then on the slide drag the path to where you want it.

Thanks for the reply. The animation is fairly simply. I have an image of a process flow diagram pasted onto the Power Point page. There is a "PacMan" like object, a Smiley face as the item being animated laid on top of the pasted image. There is a simple animation on the "PacMan" type image, so it moves along the lines of the process flow. These are simple movements of down and to the right. I have done some checks and:

You presentation works perfectly here 2010 on Windows 7 32 bit
Also I had no problem creating the slide with the image at the back. My guess is your graphics card has problems with 64 bit but that's guess of course. Tryt changing the setting of "Disable Hardware Graphics Acelleration" in Options > Advanced Otherwise I don't know |

Thank you, you have raised some very interesting points and areas well worth exploring further. I am currently using Windows 7 (64 bit). A few years ago, I installed 64 bit Office but found when using Access it was unreliable and unpredictable, essentially I had a lot application hangs making it impossible to debug VBA. So I uninstalled the 64 bit version and went back to the 32 bit. Do you know how I can check which version of Sharepoint I am using now? And which version of Windows 7 I am using ? I will check the settings you suggest and whether I have the latest drivers for the video card. |

Sharepoint?
You can get the Windows info from Start > Control Panel > System, This Page tells you how to check for Service Pack1 in Office 2010 but you should also be able to check the version. This is more important in 2007 but I would also make sure you have a default LOCAL Printer Driver. Use XPS if there is no physical printer. For some crazy reason the printer driver affects the screen display! |

Many thanks for you help. I have it working now. I am pretty sure the problem was using a 64 bit version of Office. I have now downgraded to the 32 bit version and it works !!! In fact, I th8ink few other problems will disappear too. |
