![]() Hi, I often use alt-shift-(up/down) to quickly rearrange paragraphs in my documents. However, there seem to be instances in which Word treats multiple paragraphs as a single paragraph (so it ends up moving a set of lines instead of just a single line). When I select "show formatting" I have verified that paragraph marks are at the end of each of my paragraphs (as opposed to soft line breaks). Is this a bug? (word 2007) Is it a style/formatting thing? (although it works in other sections of the document that use the same style) Is there something I am not considering? Thanks in advance! -Josh |

Hi, Joshuasq. I can't say for certain, but I have received documents in which the paragraph mark (pilcrow) has more than meets the eye. As you may know, the pilcrow stores all the formatting info for the paragraph. If there are unaccepted track changes, or mixed-up style problems, I have seen selection of the lower of two paragraphs, for instance, also select the one above. Usually this can be cleared by either reapplying the style to both, or deleting the in-between paragraph and replacing it. See if that does it.

Thanks for your help. I have tried re-applying styles. But I have not tried deleting/replacing the line. I'll give it a shot.
Thanks! |
