So, I uninstalled MS Office from the internal SSD on my Dell Latitude. Then I cleaned the registry and deleted all Office folders. Rebooted the system and reinstalled Office.
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint appeared neutral upon startup. Then I started Outlook and prepared myself to enter accounts, mailboxes, etc. But Outlook started with all the parameters as before. And the OK/Cancel buttons were missing from the Send/Receive transmission window. Where the hell did Outlook get the previous data from and configure it on its own? I'm taking this very personally and am furious. I'd better throw away the Latitude. |

Does that mean you followed the "To completely reset Outlook, you must...." instructions from this post?
Completely remove Outlook up and start afresh - Super User Note that you should start Outlook in Safe Mode the first time after the Reset so it can recreate the missing default objects. (I can not rule out the possibility that your Dell was manufactured in Poldavia and had an ancient curse placed upon it by a disgruntled worker). |

Yes, I also deleted Office from the registry, following the procedure described here. Now I've installed Office Standard and Pro, both 32-bit and 64-bit, following this procedure. The OK/Cancel buttons are still missing.
What I could live with is if I could uncheck "receive messages" for the second email in the delivery window. But I would have to confirm that with OK, and that button is missing. It would be great if I could find this check mark in the registry and remove it there. |
