Hi b0x4it,

I think someone needs to stop trying to make Word a pseudo-LaTeX application.

To change the Equation # format, select the # and press Ctrl-F9 to enclose in in another field (eg 'Equation { 1 }'). Then fill in/around the field braces so that you get:
'Equation {=1 \# (0)}'

Then, to get just the Equation #, without the brackets, format the REF field as {REF _Ref294160175 \# 0;0 \h }


Note: To be able to do this, you must insert the first cross-reference to the Equation before modifying the Equation # format.
