what I found is that when I insert an equation caption, Word create just 1. Now if I put a cross-reference to this caption, word create a bookmark to the 1 and this is what you said that there is no bracket. But interestingly, if I add brackets around 1 -> (1) and put another cross-referencing followed by Ctrl+A and F9, Word automatically created two other bookmarks one for (1) and the other one for (1 .
No if I want to have a cross referencing to just 1, the solution that adds \# 0 does not works anymore and the only way is to update one of those bookmarks and change it from (1 to just 1. Am I right? If so, I think manually adding a bookmark to the caption number and the cross-referencing that bookmark is the much straight forward solution (as I told you before). Are these all correct?

Thanks
