Hi phaworth,

Section breaks can usually be seen in the 'Print Layout' view, though they can be difficult to spot if they start at the very end of a line. Temporarily switching to 'Draft' view is sometimes necessary for that reason.

I understand your frustration with some Section breaks changing themselves to continuous. To re-set them, place the insertion point in the relevant section and then, in the Page Setup dialog box, change the "Section start" option. To display the dialog box, click the the arrow on the bottom right of the Page Setup group on the Page Layout tab.
