Help when creating new line in Word.

I have a word document/outline format I would like to work with, but it’s causing problems.

For one example, have made sure the formatting (or at least I thought I did) was correct.
Whenever I hit enter for the next line, the next line is bold and underline. Yes there is some text above it bold and underline but I don't want it to continue.

And example of my outline (note when I press enter after p. 717) to get a new line the new line is bold and underline.:
A. The Nature of the Warnings
1. Duckworth v. Eagan, p. 710
2. Colorado v. Spring, p. 717
3. ssdf
I would like to be able to copy and paste from other documents into my document and use new formatting of document I’m working in.
Here is an example of how it looks after I spend a few minutes correcting word’s mishaps from pasting or when I’m typing (note some formatting was lost in pasting to the forum):

II. Plain View

A.If officers inadvertently come across contraband in plain view during course of search, evidence can be seized (avoid general search)

B. Example: If a police officer is walking down the street, and he knows that the mona lisa has been stolen. The cop looks to his left as he is walking, and he sees the mona lisa wrapped in Met. Mus of Art. Is this plain view doctrine?
a. No, because there is no prior valid intrusion. This was an open view sighting. The cop is using his senses to see a crime. Seeing the mona lisa only gives probable cause to get a warrant, absent an exigency. If while going inside the premises to get the mona lisa, and he then sees marijuana, this is a plain view sighting of the marijuana.

2. Horton v. California (page 151)

a. valid seizure so long as in plain view b/c of exigency. Inadvertence not required.
b. advertent vs. inadvertent on the part of officers (police honesty issue – the police office’s state of mind is to find other stuff than those specified by the warrant)
c. Is inadvertent a requirement under plain view seizure doctrine? No
I appreciate anytime someone can give.
