A screen shot of the Customize Keyboard dialog box for an installation where the mysterious shortcuts actually work would help, I believe.
Shortcuts are typically stored in the Normal template (user-specific and machine-specific). It is possible to store them in *.dotx or *.dotm add-ins in the Startup folder, and macros can be in the Startup folder as well (in *.dotm templates).

If you would scroll down under the Categories window on the left to Styles. Then look for Black and Blue.

My Apology.
I have deleted my posts with the suggested Add-Ins because keyboard shortcuts to styles in an Add-In do not work. Having keyboard shortcuts in an Add-In work in documents requires that the shortcuts be attached to macros or building blocks, not simply to styles in the Add-In. A Global StyleSheet in Microsoft Word? |

I decided to take a scientific approach rather than a criminal lawyer approach, as I come from a scientific background.
![]() I located the normal.dotm file on my main computer and copied it to the new computer that I was trying to program Ctrl-Shft-b and Ctrl-Shft-k to change highlighted text to blue/black. Sure enough it worked. Any highlighted text would change to blue/black with the above key strokes. So now the only question that remains unresolved for me is: How can I get into the workings/programming of normal.dotm to see how I did it? BTW, there are no macros and nothing under Styles mentioning blue/black on either computer. |

Again.
Please attach a document with text you've marked with both of your shortcuts. This would be a .docx file. I or Stefan may be able to find styles that you cannot. Styles in Word can be hidden so that you are unable to see them in the user interface. We will not be able to look for keyboard shortcuts in that. Or, take your normal.dotm file and compress it into a zip file (right click in Windows) and attach that here. |

Here's a file marked as you requested. Please let me know what you discover is allowing the shortcuts to make the font color changes. |
