Maybe you have already considered this, but see if the option "Enable background repagination" has been turned off in Word Options. The option is turned on by default, and can only be disabled in Draft view.

Hi all
I upgraded to Office 2024, and it is great.
Bugs fixed from 2019
-Seamless upgrade. With earlier versions I would have to do a lot of reconfiguring.
... And no new learning curve (handy at age 60) - Outlook/Word/Excel all similar.
-Word: It now shows page number in draft mode
-Outlook
...-No need to send-receive after every sent email as still in Outbox.
...-Send-receives quicker. Before it oft hangs for 10s even if no emails then arrived.
-My pay per view TV Foxtel is somehow more stable.

Only problems:
-install very slow... progress bar didn't move for about 20 minutes, and I was nervous it had locked up. MS please keep some sort of moving bar.
-word/excel file/more/account: "There are problems with your account. To fix them, please sign in again." Too nervous to change anything when all works fine. I've been burnt before!

I'm glad the update to 2024 has helped.

I may have mentioned this before. Microsoft is pushing the "new" Outlook. Everything I've read tells me that it is not yet ready. You should continue to use the classic desktop application.
