How to change the selection highlight color in Word?

Hi,
I have a question about the selection highlight color in Word. This is the color that appears when you select a part of the text with your mouse or keyboard and vanished when you deselect the text. It is different from the highlight option that you can apply from the Home tab.
Normally, the selection highlight color is gray, but for some reason, it has changed to black on my Word document. I don't like this color and I want to change it back to gray or another color. How can I do that? Is there a setting or an option that I can use to change the selection highlight color in Word?
Please help me with this issue. Thank you.

This cannot be changed. I suspect that this is a side-effect of the Office theme that you have chosen. Try the colorful theme.,

This has nothing to do with the Office theme, but may be related to your Windows theme, especially if you are using a high contrast theme.

I've checked that. I tried all kinds of word themes. the issue still persist. I even changed the windows theme, It didn't work either. I was accustomed to seeing the color gray, but suddenly, it turned to black. The closest thing to this issue that I can recall, which may have caused this problem, is when I tinkered with the "colors" in the "Design" tab. I'm not entirely certain if it's due to that, but now, changing those colors doesn't seem to make any difference.

It has nothing at all to do with the Design tab. That only applies colour to your document. The selected text highlight colour comes from the OS settings, not Office.

I tried experimenting with Windows theme colors, but nothing changed. I even tested the high-contrast theme and attempted to modify the selected text color (it was the only place where I could find a direct option to change it), but still, nothing changed. Do you have any procedures that could help me change this color?

Unfortunately, no. Without knowing what you've done it is difficult to help.
