Hi, everyone,
In the 600-doument I'm revising, I page-numbered the title page by mistake. So I to find that page. Though I saved those changes, the words, and the page numbers reappeared in that section's header area. Did that happen because I saved the document before closing the header area? What do I need to do to prevent the unwanted heading from reappearing when I reopen the document? Thanks. |

What is the difference between headings and headers?

Word seems to “forget” to save the changes when I revise the text in Section 1's header area and remove page number from that place. But it tells me that it did save them. If it saves the changes, what undoes them? |

Maybe I solved the problem by open the title page's header area and choosing Different first page, and saving the document. After I saved the document, closed and reopened it, the unwanted text had disappeared.
I pay attention to minute detail. But given the choice between Word and TeX, I'd pick TeX because it'll let me embed human-readable commands in a document. |

My answer contained two links. There is a difference between a header, which is what you seem to be asking about, and a heading. In Word jargon, they are not the same thing.
