Have you looked at Suzanne's article? Mastering the Spelling Checker by Suzanne Barnhill, MVP

Don’t forget to reset Custom.dic as your default dictionary when you’re working in ordinary documents.

I have used word for decades and never had to add a dictiony. She tells me that have to keep swaping default dictionarys.

Can you answer the two questions that I've asked?

You are saying that the command is missing from the right-click menu?

Is it missing if you start Word is safe mode?

Some times add to dictionary is there. Sometimes it is not. Microsoft choose when am allowed to add to dictionary. As to Charles. Your link is irrelevant as you never read my original post. If you had, you would not have given advice on forene lanquage prrofing tools or given me a link to Suzans link which is over 10 years old and not relevant to the modern word.

I I said from the start (Charles). One simply RIGHT clicks on a word. For your information this produces a pop up menu where add to dictionary is shown. Try it out for yourself.

This has been standard since word used a mouse and before there were foregn language proofing tools. Before you were born perhaps.

Good luck.

You keep arguing with me, telling me I don't know what I'm talking about, and refusing to answer the questions I've asked to better get a feel for your problem.
