I've recently Installed word 2019. I was previously using 2007. On that, when you clicked on a tool bar tab, it would open and stay open after you used one of the commands on it. Also, you could scroll over the other tabs and they would open. In 2019, you open a tab, use one of the commands on it and it auto closes and you can't scroll over the other tabs. Is there a setting that will make it behave like the one in 2007?

Double-click on a tab.
See Minimizing Ribbon / AutoHiding Ribbon / Toggling Toolbars. In Word jargon, it is the "Ribbon," not toolbar. The Quick Access Toolbar is a related tool. Modifying the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in Microsoft Word |

Yeah, kind of a pain. Glad I found this explanation here with the folder-looking icon with an up arrow in the upper right of Word. This controls the ribbon settings. As for the version of Word, I'm not quite sure what ours is because it's part of Office 365. It's version 2112, whatever that is.

Currently you are using code in Word 2021+ in Word 365. Microsoft continues to fix stuff that isn't broken! |
