When indexing words in Word, indexing can be controlled by turning on the Formatting button. (Show hidden formatting marks button)
Now you can see that a word is indexed by XE in front. This XE bracket takes up space and causes the layout to move. I work in a document with approx. 650 pages and more than 3000 indexes and this means that my document will be more than 100 pages larger as long as the formatting button is turned on. Suggestion: When indexing the word must be highlighted, could you not use this selection to colorize the word instead of adding this XE selection which destroys the layout?
