Hey all!
I write recipe ebooks and the last 30+ pages of each book should be YouTube tips and techniques videos. What I've done to eliminate the need to type info over and over again to preface each video with pertinent video credentials — I decided to make ONE section that includes these YT tips and paste it under each set of recipes in each book. So let's say I've uploaded 20 videos and the remaining 10 pages will be text only. I've been successful with the videos working until a few days ago. I was testing the last video and it transferred itself to a black screen as usual. Upon clicking the "PLAY" button — the video starts jumping off and on and won't play anything. I asked Geek Squad (my computer support service) and the agent suggested that I remove most of the videos. I removed ALL of them — then added one back to the list without any success. It would be nice if the videos worked as before. ![]() Can you please help? |

Did you try adding one to a different document?

Thanks for your response Paul.
Do you mean a fresh, new Word document? Yes I've tried that. |

Have you tried repairing the Office installation (via Windows Control Panel > Programs > Programs & Features > Microsoft Office (version) > Change > Repair)?

I (Geek Squad) tried that without success Paul. But I think I learned something. The agent was successful with the videos and they all played for him. So I asked him to install Google Chrome in addition to my default FF. He did but we got disconnected. So I'm on my way to fiverr to get me and Chrome up and running.
I'd like to sincerely thank you for your suggestions Paul! Although my issues weren't resolved — I will at least come back and let you know if GC worked. Thank you again! Mary Ann ![]() |

Geek Squad came through after 3 hours earlier today and 2 hours this evening. I would need to look at her notes to see what she finally did but I really don't care since I'm up and running now and can't stop dancing!
Thanks again Paul! Mary Ann ![]() |

Since you evidently have a related discussion cross-posted at Geek Squad, please provide links to that discussion (and also from there to this discussion). This is basic cross-posting etiquette, for details of which please read: http://www.excelguru.ca/content.php?184

A screen-shot is not a link. Please post a link to the discussion.

![]() ![]() I'd be more than happy to give a link but I've never gotten a "LINK." There isn't anything else Paul. I've been with Geek Squad for about four years and that's not how they operate. Here's what I do: I'll call customer support and they'll use my phone number to make sure that I'm indeed a member. Then we'll go through my needs and/or reasons for my call. "SUPPORT: GET QUESTIONS ANSWERED AND PROBLEMS SOLVED 24/7/365." Then they give me a code so they can have obtain remote access to my computer. If customer support cannot solve my problem — they'll transfer me to a Geek Squad agent. He/she will take over and go about what they do so well generally 100% of the time. This problem with YouTube and Microsoft wasn't an easy nut for them to crack as I've called several times without a successful resolution. UNTIL I called a few days ago when the agent SOLVED my issue. It doesn't work like a forum Paul where folks post like you and I are doing. Before Geek Squad signs out/off of my computer — they'll ask me to check to make sure they've solved my problem and then I'll exit and close. After that I'll receive a Geek Squad survey in addition to receiving an email like the following: |
