![]() I have a word document that has a page that begins a section about 3 inches down the page. I do not understand how this section works. I want the page, being page 94 to being at the top of page 94, not half way down the page. This is the last page of the document. How can I more the Section up to the top of the page? I have attached a screen shot. |

You evidently have a Section break between those two pages (page 93 is in Section 16; page 94 is in Section 17). Section 17 also has a 'first page' layout applied. If you go to the page setup dialogue and remove the 'different first page' setting for Section 17, you will probably get the desired result. Otherwise, if you need to keep that setting, you will have to change the first page layout in Section 17.

I tried your suggestion and it did not change anything.

Without actually seeing the problem document, not just screenshots, it can be difficult for anyone to diagnose the issue. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab at the bottom of this screen.

Go into the page setup dialog from the header in section 17.
Go into the header. Page Layout Tab Page Setup Group Open dialog box using the button in the bottom right corner. Go to the Layout tab 00 deleteme 2.png Mind saying why you have 17 sections? Sections/Headers/Footers in Microsoft Word |

This word document was taken from a template. I do not know how it ended up with 17 sections. I have attached the last two pages which hopefully will show the problem.

Other than the screenshots, there are no attachments to any of your posts. Perhaps you could attach the actual template, too?

Did my directions allow you to change Section 17's settings?

Charles, My document has 0.4" in the header field. You can download the file in the link above and see the actual document. I removed all but the last two pages.

For some reason you have the document's page layout configured to vertically align content to the 'centre' of the page. See under Page Lauout>Page Setup>Layout. Changing it to the normal 'top' alignment will resolve the issue. Do be aware that the layout of other pages will also be affected.
