I open a new document with narrow margins for 8.5x11 paper.
I insert ONLY pictures (square wrap, no text), size them to 2.4x3.5, and position them 2x4 on the page (not always 8 pictures on a page). I save and reopen the file and my margins have changed to at least 12 wide and the pictures are all rearranged - the only thing that remains the same is the picture size. At this point I cannot change the page size. The only thing I can change is the margin back to about 7". This causes the pictures to rearrange to where I originally had placed them - but in whatever order M$ cares to think they should be in. If I do the same thing for a text/picture document, none of this happens. WHAT am I missing?????????? |

Without seeing the document file it would be hard to identify the problem. However, if you don't mind another potential solution, you could create a table with the table cells sized to fit your images, inserting the images and turning the table border/lines off.
Just a thought... |

OK - these are Word 2016 files. Here is a blank doc, a pic of how 3 pics were entered, and a pic of the doc after saving & reopen - along with the doc so you can see if it looks the same on your end.

I do not have that problem at all. I saved, then reopened and had the same result. I also copied all three images to complete the page @ 8 images per page, saved and reopened...same result.
Have you re-checked your page setup? |

the blank doc is one I opened then saved and added the pics to and saved as test doc. Nothing changed format wise. BUT you are using office 2013 and I never had a problem like this with 13. I guess I need to chg my profile - still says 2010.

Well, again, I copied/pasted the images to your blank file and still have good results (pasted as expected). So, because I do not have 2016, I will let someone who does have it...resolve your issue. (Still believe it is something simple as page setup...)

well the only thing I did was to resize the pic to 2.4x3.5 and set the positions on the page. 1st line was 0.75 left margin, 0.7 top & 4.26 left, 0.7 top. 2nd line was 3.1 top and same left as 1st line.
When I reopen the file I cannot reset the page size - only move the margin. So how is it a page setup issue? Sounds like a 2016 issue to me. |
