Hi everyone,
I am trying to format my numbered headings. The yellow highlighted numbers should be 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.2.1 and so on. How do I go about fixing this? I have tried Shauna Kelly's guide but this doesn't seem to assist. Thank you Tom Last edited by Charles Kenyon; 08-31-2016 at 01:09 PM. Reason: Mark as solved |

Try it again, following all of the steps.
The key here is what triggers restarting numbering at a particular level. How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in Ribbon Versions of Word by Shauna Kelly |

Did you make sure to use the built-in headings for your numbers? If you click in the first Heading 1 paragraph of the document and then click Home tab | Multilevel List | Define New Multilevel List, you can verify that the settings are correct.
For assistance with the various options, Shauna Kelly's article is an excellent resource.
