On my system, Word 2007 does not have a Protected View tab.
I have looked at several forum entries (various forums), and have noticed that the respondents invariably misunderstand. They simply cannot conceive of such a thing. But that is what's happening. Under Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, there IS NO Protected View tab. It's essential for the tab to be there, as far as I know, for me to be able to enable/disable, or modify. Please help. |

See examples of most tabs in Word's ribbon versions here:
The Ribbons of Microsoft Word 2007-2013 There is no Protected View tab. There is a Developer Tab. If this is what you are talking about, there is no Protected View side tab in Trust Center Settings in Word 2007. The screenshot below is from Word 2010. |

Thanks for your quick response. Can you tell me if the actions of Protected View
are performed somewhere in Word 2007? What I mean is, if the tab isn't there, does Word do whatever Protected View does, but in some other way? Or, maybe I mean, if Word is doing the "protecting," can I modify its behavior in some way. If I were in Word 2010 or so, I would be disabling the Protected View. Can I disable the behavior in Word 2007, or does it exist? |
