I want to create a document where I would type certain text only once (MyText) and it will be automatically updated on multiple places in the same doc... MyText is not a fixed text (I don't want to insert a predefined text). I've tried using a text form field and REF fields but that only works when I protect the document, which blocks me from editing the rest of the text ? Does someone knows how to do it? |

You could use a content control, which does not require the document to be protected, rather than a form field.

Thank for the quick reply!
Is this functionality available on Mac version also? seems I can't figure out where to start from... |

It has been more than fifteen years since I've used a Mac version.
Look at the Document Property Content Controls under Quick Parts as described in Repeating Data (Populating Multiple Like Fields). |
