The problem is caused by the background picture (click Design tab | Page Color | Fill Effects and then click the Picture tab) added to the document. You can remove the picture via Design tab | Page Color | No Color. After that, conversion to PDF works properly.

You have noticed, of course, that "No Color" doesn't make sense when one really wants to remove a background picture...
