Default Updating Index

Hi
How can update Index, but just numbers not totally?
Because when Index becomes updated totally, whole format of it changes.

Perhaps you should do some basic work to get the Index to format correctly in the first place.

You cannot update only a part of any field.

The format of an Index field is controlled by switches and via the 'Formats' dropdown under Insert|Quick Parts|Field>Index>Index. You can also change the format of the various Index Styles (e.g. Index 1). For information on the switches, see: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US
