There is no autosave in Word! There is only the autosaving of recovery information. This may or may not amount to a full recovery of a document in the event of a crash. It has no benefit to documents corrupted by other means. If you want to save the document you must actually save it e.g. Ctrl+S.

This can be effected with VBA, but it's a bit late for that with this document - http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm
