I have a 160 page word doc that I put together using artifacts of other word docs (yes 2007 with 2013 (2013 is new text). Can't get the page numbers to be deleted on any page. Need to just reset them all and redo numbering. Tks, Ernie PS...hot job..due to the boss 10AM ET tomorrow (Monday 8/11).

Where on the page are the #s? Usually they're in the page header or footer and deleting the PAGE field there.

The page numbers are in the right margin. I didn't use the header or footer but the right margin option. The 'delete all page numbers' selection won't work as it is grayed out. I'm about ready to just make a white strip the length of the page and copy - paste over the margin itself and then use the footer option for numbering. Frustrating when you have over 150 pages.
Please let me know and thanks in advance.

One other item if I may...the Header 2 in Word 2013 has gone missing (never was there as best I can tell). I REALLY need to use this H2 and it's driving me nuts to find a work around. No success so far. Any ideas appreciated. Best regards, Ernie

Although the numbers might appear in the right margin, they'll be in frames or textboxes attached to the header. All you need to is to select & delete one of those frames or textboxes and both it an the page #s should disappear from all Section headers linked to the current one. If you have unlinked sections, you'll need to repeat the process for those sections.

Agreeing with Paul... The only place Word places page numbers by default is in headers and footers (even if it looks like it is in the middle of the page or in a margin). While in your header/footer editing view, examine the numbers.
