Smile Excel to word transfer

Hi All

Just wanted to know as to how one can transfer data from Excel to Word (2013) so as to it could appear in proper row format in word sheet (left to right-preferably coma separated), instead of in excel format (up to down). I mean it should appear in Transpose form.

Is this for just one file or for multiple files? Is this for just one row or for multiple rows?

Hi Clark,
You are providing link of Word 2007 and Raviraj is asking for Word 2013.
The Keep Source Formatting feature of MS Word would only paste the whole data of Excel into Word as it is in Excel. It will not change the format of data like Raviraj is asking.

I think you have to do it manually after pasting data from Excel into Word.

Hi jamesdann,

The process for Office 2013 is the same as for Office 2007, so the version differences are irrelevant. That said, transposing the data will require more than a simple copy/paste. Without knowing more about the data structure and how many files are involved, it's impossible to say what the most appropriate means will be. Manual processing isn't a given though.

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask. Q: Can it be done with VBA? A: Almost certainly. Q: Can it be done with without VBA without also copying pasting each item individually? A: Possibly but, as I said before, I'd want to know more about the data source and destination before offering specific advice.
