Hello!
I've been trying to achieve the following format: Heading 1 Heading number 1 Heading 2 Heading number 2 Heading 3 Heading number 3 For example: Chapter title Chapter 1 Section title Section 1.1 In other words, I want to have the heading numbering to the RIGHT of the title instead of the normal: Chapter 1 Chapter title Section 1.1 Section title Is there any way this can be done? |

Whether you can include the number in the style, I'm not sure; Macropod will surely know. I suspect that what you'll need is an SEQ (sequence) field following the title. How you would set up secondary and tertiary levels coordinated with the first level is again out of my league. However, should you need to include the field manually, this can be set up on your QAT.

First IF: if a field after the text sorts out the presentation, perhaps an AutoNumLgl field would handle the multi-level numbering.
Second IF: if I was going to roll up my sleeves and try anything fancy like this, I'd start by creating my own heading styles with the correct level rather than tinker with the defaults :-} |

I know of no way to do what you want through Word's list styles. You could use a SEQ field at the end of each heading. That, though, would be a part of the text and not part of the heading style.
All I know about numbering is in the additional web resources here: Numbering in Microsoft Word |
