![]() I'm using Word's built-in heading styles. For Heading 2 I find there isn't enough space between the heading number (eg. 5.1) and the heading text. How do I add space? It looks like: 5.1Sales Figures but I want it to look instead like 5.1 Sales Figures. |

Place the insertion point in the first Heading 1 paragraph of the document. Click Home tab | Mulilevel List | Define New Mulilevel List. Adjust the indentation for level 2. For more, see http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...g20072010.html.

Thanks Stefan. I followed your instructions. Now when I click on any heading 2, the ruler shows the tab for the indented text where I specified it; however, the heading 2's do not actually change. How do I get Word to update my indent change? BTW I had tried earlier to figure this out from Shauna's documentation, but still can't figure this out from what she has on her site.

Are the heading styles correctly linked to the corresponding levels of the numbered list? In that case, pressing Ctrl+Q in a Heading 2 paragrah should reset the paragraph formatting, including indentation.
