How can I eliminate these content controls. I just opened a blank screen and proceeded to format from there. The paragraph display is on, but I still can't get the cursor out of the last text box. Word will not allow me to insert a page break in the text box, and I cannot get the cursor below the text box.

"Opened a blank screen" = "Created a new document using Ctrl-N or File>New?"

If so, your normal.dotm file has been messed with. It should never contain text.

If so, see Why is my Blank Document not blank? by Suzanne S. Barnhill, MVP

I appreciate your help, but I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're saying.
"Opened a blank screen" = "Created a new document using Ctrl-N or File>New?"
Are these instructions for me to follow, or your interpretation of my problem? I had a formatted document, and I wanted to insert a second page at the end of my formatted document, so I could add or copy text from a second document, creating a two page document. But I could not create a second page to my original document. Please see my response to Macropod, which contains a representation of my initial document. Thanks again for any help.

I'm not even sure there are content controls. Can you attach a document to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

Attached is my document, with the personal information removed. I wished to add a second page to this document, which actually was a form which I called RSVP. I could not insert a second page, or even insert or add a blank second page to attempt to copy and paste my RSVP Form into this second page.

If you know how, please explain.
Thanks
