I have my options in Word 2010 set to save autorecover information every 10 min.
Had been away from computer for hours, apparently didn't save, and my wife closed Word and said NO when asked if she wanted to save ![]() I thought, oh well, it should be auto saved. No dice. Any thoughts? |

Auto save was probably working as specified, but telling Word to close without saving also tells it to discard the autosave data. Autosave is meant to protect you against accidental power loss, & crashes, not deliberate save/don't save decisions.

Makes sense.
I just thought that if something was autosaved every 10 minutes, then it was saved, and then didn't need to worry about saving again. Of course, I hadn't tested that theory, until my wife closed one of my files w/o saving ![]() |
