I agree with you that the paragraph formatting is lost when applying styles from the Multilevel list. In fact Word can ignore your styles completely and apply List Paragraph style instead for example. I personally never use this method when applying styles. I understand styles very well and always apply my styles from my Styles Gallery or Styles list and I have no problems.

However, I was asked to add my customised list styles to the bottom of Word's list library. This I did. The only problem that I now have is sharing what I did with the people who made the request. I work for engineers and seeing is believing!! I want to show them that this is not a good way to work with styles.

My attempts so far to replace my List Library with theirs has been unsuccessful and I was hoping that someone could confirm if this was possible or not. If it was how I could do this. There is very little information on the Internet about the ListGal.dat file.

If no one has this information then the engineers will just have to take my word for it.
