I would appreciate help with a problem that I have been unable to resolve.



For the last month, when I open MS Word 2010 the screen defaults to the File Tab rather than the Home Tab. This is really inconvenient - every time I want to use one of the many editing functions within the Home Tab, I have to click on the Home Tab - then, after one keystroke (within the Home Tab functions) it switches back to File Tab.

I don't know what I have done to change the basic setting that worked problem-free for many months following installation of Word 2010.

I'm sure there must be a simple way of getting Word 2010 to default to the Home Tab - but would someone please point me in the right direction.

Hello, 1wpb. I believe your problem is that your ribbon is minimized, which puts the File tab up front, so to speak. Ctrl+the F1 key will toggle the ribbon on and off; when it's showing, Home is the default.

Does that solve it?
