Table numbering not updating correctly

I am using automatic table numbering in my thesis. I just discovered that the first two tables are both labeled Table 1, both in the table captions and in the corresponding list of tables at the beginning of the document. I'm pretty sure this wasn't always the case... The rest of the tables proceed with their numbering correctly. Anyway, I toggled the field codes and they were identical ({SEQ Table \* ARABIC \s 1}), so as far as I can tell the tables are part of the same sequence. What else could be causing this to happen? I have selected all and chosen "Update Field" several times, to no avail. Please let me know if there is any other info I need to post to help figure this out. Thanks!
