I'm looking to move a bunch of objects on a bunch of slides an exact amount.
Is there some way I can select a bunch of items then move them left by XXX pixels, or up by YYY pixels? This way I can consistently move every object across multiple slides. (whether it is pixels, or cm, or inches, its all the same, as long as I can do the exact same to a bunch of objects on different slides). Edit: adding more context: I have a long animation sequence, spread out over multiple slides (12 or so). Each object animates perfectly on top of or from the position of the object in the slide before. It was painstaking work to line everything up but after much effort I got it down perfect. I have recently expanded the width of the slides, and I now need to move every object to the left an exact amount. I can't set an absolute position because if I select everything and use "right-click" and "Size and Position", then every individual object is lined up to the new absolute position. I can't group every object together and set the absolute position of the group because then all my animations are wiped out. I'm looking for a solution that will let me move every object, individually, by an exact unit (pixels, cm, inches, whatever). Or, a way to temporarily group all items w/o wiping out all animations. Any help would be appreciated. Last edited by ialpawsv; 02-08-2016 at 02:44 PM. |

What I would do in a case like that, and since it is only 12 slides, is select (all together but without grouping) the objects that need to be moved on the first slide, use the left arrow key, count the key strokes, and apply the same amount of left arrow key strokes to the selected elements on the next slides.
It is important not to change the slide zoom level in between, since that affects the 'jumping distance' when using the arrow keys. |

Or, another 'artisan' approach :-)
1. Draw a rectangle big enough to include all slide elements - Send it To Back. Copy that rectangle to all slides + Send to Back. 2. On your first slide, select the rectangle + all the elements (without grouping) and drag all together to the left. 3. Add a vertical guide to the new position of the rectangle. 4. On all other slides: select the rectangle + all the elements (without grouping) and drag all together to the new guide. 5. On all slides: delete the rectangle. |

Edit: Never mind, I should have googled first: http://www.indezine.com/products/pow...s-ppt2013.html Thanks! Last edited by ialpawsv; 02-26-2016 at 12:47 PM. Reason: answered my own question |

Actually, what I'm finding to be the problem is when I copy a slide to a bigger width presentation, or when I expand the slides to a wider canvas, the motion paths animations all change. Its throwing all the slide-to-slide animations off, I think I'm going to have to re-do them all manually
![]() Unless someone knows of a way to change the canvas side without affecting the Motion Path animations distance or length traveled, etc? |
