I am using Outlook 2013 for gmail.com. I can no longer get or send email because of popups. Under the popup is this message from Outlook Send/Receive Progress:
"Task 'synchronizing subscribed folder for tvhagerty@gmail.com. Reported error (ox800cccoe): Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for tvh etc. Error: Cannot connect to the server. I like the Outlook 2013 program and it was working perfectly till last week. I changed some password but I can't remember which one. Perhaps that had something to do with the breakdown. I hope this problem can be solved. Tom H. |

This problem with the popup and not receiving new email really bothered me. But I found the solution to the problem. The solution was in lowering the security setting for Gmail. Even though Outlook and Gmail think this is a bad idea, the instructional paper I read said that Outlook 2013 does not support the tight security setting for Gmail. So I turned it off. After I did this, the popup disappeared and I got a backlog of 25 emails. I can breathe again.
