![]() When I migrated from w8.1 to w10 Office seemed to migrate well, I recently started to use business contact manager (outlook 2010) however it started crashing when I tried to set a contact up. Add ins were enabled but no good. So I deleted BCM from control panel and tried to install it again both from the original DVD and also from the download. It installed SQL svr mssmlbiz and has chart controls for .net305, however it would not install the business contact manager part of the programme, although it came up with the end picture saying it was installed. But it is not. So basically I need to reinstall business contact manager in Windows 10 pro. Any ideas. Have done all the google stuff. |

Hello,
Have you tried installing .Net Framework 3.5? Also ensure all the updates for .net framework are installed. Retry once again and check if the issue is resolved. Have you checked the LoadBehavior key value in Registry? It should be 3 and the location in the registry is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Ou tlook\Addins\Microsoft.BusinessSolutions.eCRM. OutlookAddIn.Connect.5 All the best. Thanks for that. I only had NET framework 4 installed by W10. However, downloading dotnetfx35.exe which is framework 3.5SP1 direct from microsoft, it will not install.
Doubling clicking exe and also run as administrator, or run in compatibility mode, I just get the blue circle (mouse pointer to circle) for a few seconds and nothing happens. Mike |

Further to my last, I see NET fw 3.5 is available in control panel/programmes/add windows features. But it is highlighted with a black box and on clicking there are two options http activation and non httpactivation?

Continuing... Have used add windows components in control panel to add in dot NET 3.5, rebooted etc. No change BCM either from download or original DVD starts GUI, does a system restore, then promply flashes, goes to the end screen as if set up but it isnt!. Can add log files if it would help.

I just gave up. Followed all the normal stuff, and even went to windows 10 programme settings /change windows features to activate Net Framework 3.5. However, BCM just tries to install then goes straight to the completed screen. No error messages. I have since found that SQL server 2008 seems not to be compatible with Windows 10 and BCM uses SQL2008. I had thought about upgrading to SQL2014 express, but have not tried it yet. No conclusive answers from Microsoft, but as they are discontinung the programme I guess they are not interested. I you have any luck please report back
