I have Office Pro 2010 in XP OS system.
I bought the upgrade on line from a vendor in California. This is an Upgrade from 2002 version. I came to know later from Microsoft that this company bought multiple seats of the program and they sold the seats individually. The company is no longer in business. Thus I cannot remove the software and re-install it I am having problem with my Outlook. It does not remind me of the appointments It opens up the address window for my out going mail however it will not find the name. Rather will not accept any typing in the search window. It sometimes opens up multiple window of different program or recycle bin. Only thing I can do is to turn the computer off and re-boot. I am repairing Office every other day to keep me going. Is there a Office Professional version that can be installed under XP environment. If I change my OS to say windows 7 - I have to fork out $3,000 + to replace several technical software. And I am trying hard not to do that. I do not have any problem with other software in the Package. Any suggestion will be appreciated. |

I was able to resolve the posted issue. However, I have now two data vile open. In each file I have my project folder. Normally all incoming and outgoing mails of a particular project saved in project file. Now part in one one Data file and part in another data file. Is there a way both can be combined. One data file is my back-up file and the other is resident in Documents and settings. Is it possible to replace the .pst file in Documents and setting with the Pst file in my back-up folder?
A response will be highly appreciated. |

You can certainly direct your (POP) mail accounts to use the same folder. - File > Account Settings > Select account > Change Folder.
The from File > Account Settings > Data Files, set the default folder to that folder. Copy any data you want from the now unused data file to the default then close the unused file. If you copy your backup data file to the working folder (with Outlook Closed), you could open that one and set it as your default. It it has the same name as one of your existing data files, then rename the existing file before copying the backup to the folder, and before you re-open Outlook. The backup should then open in place of the renamed file. You can open the renamed file to copy any information from it.
