That doesn't make any sense to me - the GWX control panel is a utility for blocking and removing a Win 10 'upgrade'. Removing and blocking the utility won't achieve anything beneficial in that regard.

If you're still having problems with Office after trying to repair it, you may need to uninstall & reinstall it. If you can't uninstall Office from the Windows Control Panel, see: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...ad=US&fromAR=1

I understand the workings of the GWX Utility. What I meant, is that the Windows 10 upgrade (which is called GWX by MS) is completely removed from my system and updates pertaining to GWX are blocked in Windows Update. The only difference is that I did it manually and didn't use the 3rd. party utility.

I will now try the Easy-Fix tool link that you kindly provided. Report will follow.

I used the GWX Control Panel and it confirmed that all GWX functions are disabled.

I was able to uninstall office with the utility but after re-install, the very same problem persists. I will have to roll back my system with an Acronis image to the time before the trouble started.
