Have you tried creating a new profile? How i solved the problem was to backup my profile on the PC then delete it, once i had done this i re-created my profile by logging in and everything worked. Dont know exactly what the problem was, but it seemed to be user\profile specific, so recreating the profile did the job.

Indeed, sometimes that's all you can do (overkill as it may seem initially).
