Border above numbered items

Hello,

I'm trying to get a dashed border to appear over numbered items. I created a style for this, however, for some reason the border only appears when I have a carriage return between the numbered items. Currently I get this:

---------------------------------
1 Numbered item text
2 Numbered item text
3 Numbered item text

Or this:

---------------------------------
1 Numbered item text

---------------------------------
2 Numbered item text

---------------------------------
3 Numbered item text


But what I need is this:

---------------------------------
1 Numbered item text
---------------------------------
2 Numbered item text
---------------------------------
3 Numbered item text




Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Roy,

Are you doing this via a Style definition, or via direct formatting? If it's the latter, select the block of paragraphs and, using the borders tool, make sure you select the top, middle and bottom borders.

Thank you very much for your response.

I am trying this via a style. The style is basically a numbered list with a border on top of each number. Currently the border appears for the first numbered item and only when I have a carriage return in between numbered items. I am hoping to find a way in which the border will appear, automatically, for all numbered items as has been set in the style.

Hi Roy,

For use with Styles, the principal is the same: when defining the Style, choose Format>Border>Borders and make sure you select the top, middle and bottom borders in the 'preview' panel or, if as your example suggests, you don't want the bottom border, select only the top and middle borders.
