Modify the indent of the List Bullet style (which is what gets applied when you press the shortcut keys) as follows: Place the insertion point in the first List Bullet item. Right-click and choose Adjust List Indents from the context menu. Specify 0.25" for "Bullet position." For "Text indent" and "Add tab stop at," specify 0.5". This changes the list. Just in case, you may want to right-click again and click Styles | Update List Bullet to Match Selection.
