Hi
You can add them to your MS Word dictionary. That way they will not be autocorrected. Good luck. Tony(OTPM) |

Both still get auto-corrected to HAS and has. I also tried putting them in the autocorrect exceptions "Other Corrections" list. Entering HSA in the input box converts instantly to lower case hsa in the list after you click Add. It appears not to be possible to enter an all caps word/acronym. Hit all the OKs to get out of dialog boxes and save. hsa still gets autocorrected to has every time. And I have tried exiting and restarting outlook and word after making the above changes. Still autocorrects hsa to has. Using Office 2010 on Windows 7. See the same issue on two different machines. Any idea what is going on here? |

Hi
To resolve your issue you need to delete the Autocorrect option in your dictionary for "hsa" that already exists. This will resolve your issue. I have tested it and it works for me. Hope this helps. Tony |

Thanks for the fast response and for running the test. Did you mean, keep hsa in my dictionary (CUSTOM.DIC), and delete hsa from the "AutoCorrect Options / Exceptions / Other Corrections" tab? Or did you mean keep hsa in the "AutoCorrect Options / Exceptions / Other Corrections" tab, and delete it in my dictionary (CUSTOM.DIC)? I did not see a dictionary in the AutoCorrect Options area, so I am not sure I understand your direction. I tried both of the above combinations, but it still autocorrects hsa to has for me. I am guessing I am not fully understanding your direction yet. Let me know if screen shots of the config dialog boxes would be helpful. Thanks Phil |

Here's what you do in Outlook.
File > Options > Spelling and Correction > AutoCorrect Options > Auto Correct Tab Scroll through list at bottom. Find the entries that you don't want auto corrected and delete them. The OP would want to delete IHS an EHR. Funny, I was having this same issue with those exact same acronyms. Thanks for the info! I'm less ignorant than I was yesterday. |
