Hello! I stumbled across this post as I was researching the same problem, and I can't seem to make it work out. I want different headers (my name on evens and my book title on odds) with consistent page numbers starting from the second page of chapter one. I used section breaks for each chapter so that the first page of each chapter would be unique (no page number or header).
Now when I set up the headers just how I want them, the pages numbers are only showing up on odd pages! I've done as much as I could, and no success. The previous instructions were very confusing to me. I will need a more simplified description of what to do. This isn't my forte! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

You will have to insert page numbers in the even header (or footer) as well. The easiest way is to click in the header and press Alt+Shift+P. Select "Different first page" on the Header & Footer Tools Design tab (on the ribbon) to omit the first page header in a given section. For more, take a look at http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...atter_2007.htm.
