I am having problems protecting a word document that was created in Word 2007. A password protection was put onto the document but when opened in other word versions (e.g. 2003/2010) you can turn off the protection without the password. Is there anyway to completely protect the document from editing?
Thanks |

Hi elgell,
Word's document protection has never been very strong - consider it a safeguard against accidental editing rather than as a true security measure. If you want to secure a document against editing, save it in the PDF format. In most cases, that's enough to prevent people from making edits. If you have access to an app like Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can add additional layers or security, including, no copying or printing.
