A couple of us are stumped here. In a standard combine operation on five reviewed copies of the same document, each done in Word 07 with track changes on, we are finding that some of the changes appearing in one or the other source document are not showing up in the combined document, although nearly all are. As usual, the purpose of this effort is to show all suggested changes by the reviewers in a single document.
I recall reading something about whether changes are turned on or off, or have been saved or accepted--I simply don't recall and haven't been able to relocate the info; hence my post here. Nonetheless, this partial tracking on the combine seems strange. We're combining to a new document. We have tried using a pre-review copy of the document as the original, and combining all the review docs to that (rather than beginning with one of the review docs), but that had no effect; the same few changes are not showing up, even though they appear as tracked changes in the source documents. Our concern is that we're headed toward much larger documents, in which the ability to check every little change would be out of the question. Help? |
