Hi!
If I add a tab at the beginning of an paragraph all works fine, but the second tab works unexpectedly for me, please someone explain me why the white line(from background) appears, I have checked "Don't add space between paragraph on same type" so if the line doesn't appear before the paragraph why does it appear after? Secondly, why the whole paragraph go to the right, if in last line in front of the word "venenatis" I put any number of tabs everything works fine, the paragraph doesn't go to the right! lorem_1.png lorem_2.png |

The white line appears because the paragraphs are not the same style. To understand why ensure that the Style Pane Options are set to show formatting as styles.

I don't understand, the paragraphs are formatted the same! I made them with =lorem() then added an Enter at the end of each line. |

It is obvious from your screenshot that the formatting is not the same. The paragraph that you are complaining about has been indented by 0.3 cm, probably because you added one or more tabs at the beginning of that paragraph.
Adding tabs immediately in front of the word "venenatis" won't have the same effect because there is a space in front of it. Add the tabs before the space and that paragraph will also indent. This behaviour is controlled by AutoCorrect. You can change it in File | Options | Proofing | AutoCorrect Options and then deselect the option shown below. Screenshot 2025-03-01 083035.png |

I have set my Style Pane to show formatting as styles, if I click on the word "normal" everything is fine Style Pane shows its style: khagg_normal.png but if I click on the button "khagg" it doesn't show any style in the Style Pane, why?? khagg.png moreover I don't know where a new font "Time New Roman, 12pt" came from, I don't have such style in my document, all my texts are Calibri. . |

It doesn’t show a style because a button is a shape, not text.

I have a text "khagg" in that shape, if I Ctr/Paste it then I write Hello in the shape the style normal appears for the text "Hello", so why doesn't appear anything for the text "khagg"? khagg1.docx

Probably because you selected the text instead of the shape.

It appears that you may have pasted in the Khagg button from a different application source (Powerpoint?) and Word hasn't yet 'converted' it to a native Word object.
If you click in it to select the text and apply a style, you will see that the style pane items changes. I would say this effectively converts it to a native word object. I note that your Options (at the bottom of the style pane) reveals that you have set the document to track the following as styles: - Paragraph level formatting - Font formatting

The screenshot you posted shows that you selected the shape, not the text inside it.

khagg1.png Yes Italophile suggested this to see the differently formatted texts , I haven't used it before so now I tried it and I saw the button text doesn't have a style. I made the Khagg button in Word not in another application. |
